Answer in brief
CVE-2025-71373 records a High severity (CVSS 8.1) vulnerability in picklescan - Remote Code Execution via operator.methodcaller Detection Bypass. The current sources do not mark it as known exploited. The current feed maps picklescan/picklescan (generic). Check affected ranges and fixed versions before updating.
Analysis pending evidence review
HOL Guard separates source facts from reviewed analysis. See the methodology.
CVSS is 8.1. The current sources do not mark it as known exploited. Treat this as a source-backed prioritization signal, not a statement about your environment.

picklescan before 0.0.33 fails to detect operator.methodcaller function calls in pickle files, allowing attackers to bypass security checks. Remote attackers can craft malicious pickle payloads using operator.methodcaller that execute arbitrary code when loaded, compromising systems relying on picklescan for validation.
