Answer in brief
CVE-2026-66759 records a High severity (CVSS 7.1) buffer overflow vulnerability in CVE-2026-66759. The source record does not mark it as known exploited. No package mapping is present, so exposure must be confirmed against the affected product and deployment inventory.

Review the upstream advisory, identify the affected product in your inventory, and apply the vendor update when one is available.
Buffer Overflow describes the vulnerability class recorded for this advisory. The current record does not mark CVE-2026-66759 as known exploited; continue to monitor the source for status changes. This is a product-level record in the current feed, not a package-level dependency mapping.
Affected software not mapped. Review the upstream record for vendor-specific product and version guidance.
A flaw was found in the file-icns plugin in GIMP. When applying a decompressed mask during ICNS image processing, the plugin reads from the mask data buffer without verifying if the cursor exceeds the allocated resource size. If a crafted file contains a truncated mask resource, the icns_decompress function continues reading past the bounds of the buffer. This out-of-bounds read vulnerability results in information disclosure of heap contents, where memory contents are leaked as alpha channel pixel values, or a crash leading to a denial of service if unmapped memory is accessed.
