Most installed GitHub Copilot plugins

Ranked by machines that reported a GitHub Copilot install in ISO week 2026-W44. At least 10 machines per listing; this board joins search results at 20 listings.

Direct answer

No GitHub Copilot plugin reached 10 reporting machines in ISO week 2026-W44. Install reporting is opt-in, so the board fills in as Guard users report installs.

Week 2026-W44

No GitHub Copilot plugin reached 10 reporting machines in week 2026-W44. The table fills in once one does.

How the counting works

HOL Guard installs that turn on install reporting send, at most once per ISO week, the HOL listings they have installed: listing, runtime and plugin version. Guard matches plugins to listings on the device, so an unlisted plugin never leaves the machine. Each entry carries a key that changes every week, listing and runtime, and reports carry no user, machine, path or IP identifier. Each machine counts once per runtime per week.

A listing appears on a runtime board once 10 machines report it in the same week. These pages stay out of search results until a runtime has 20 qualifying listings, so a thin board never stands in for real adoption.

The same numbers are available as JSON at /api/v1/guard/plugins/leaderboards. Generated 2026-11-04 23:16 UTC.

Limitations

  • Counts come only from HOL Guard users who turned on install reporting. Most installs are never reported, so these are lower bounds, not market share.
  • One machine counts once per runtime per ISO week, however many times it reinstalls. A listing needs 10 machines on a runtime before it appears; smaller counts are withheld.
  • Install-command clicks measure people copying an install command on HOL, not completed installs.
  • Sponsorship and checkmark plans never change these rankings.
