Answer in brief
CVE-2026-87862 records a Unknown severity vulnerability in HSTS cache import drops longer-lived child. The current sources do not mark it as known exploited. The current feed maps curl/curl (generic). Check affected ranges and fixed versions before updating.
Analysis pending evidence review
HOL Guard separates source facts from reviewed analysis. See the methodology.
A CVSS score is not reported in the current record. The current sources do not mark it as known exploited. Treat this as a source-backed prioritization signal, not a statement about your environment.

Importing a `includeSubDomains` parent HSTS entry before a longer-lived child entry, silently drops the child. Consequently, when the parent expires, the child's valid HSTS policy is lost, causing curl to issue unencrypted HTTP requests rather than upgrading to HTTPS.
