pbx-mcp lets an AI assistant inspect a live Asterisk or FreeSWITCH: active channels with caller ID and bridge state, PJSIP endpoints and chan_sip peers, Sofia profiles and gateway registration, dialplan dumps, and filtered CLI or API commands. Twelve read-only tools are registered by default, including hangup previews that show what a hangup would drop without dropping it. The four write tools, originate and hangup on each engine, are never registered unless you set PBX_MCP_ALLOW_WRITE=true. Shell metacharacters are rejected, AMI header injection is guarded, output is clamped at 20k characters. TypeScript, MIT, runtime deps are the MCP SDK and Zod only. Runs with npx or as a container over stdio.
